Ken's Corn Maze

Last week Zachary's class went on a field trip to Ken's Corn Maze.  To say his class plus a few others had a great time is an understatement.  My boy was worn slam out from a day of romping through corn pits, playing on tractors, swings, rope mazes and finally a corn maze.  When we left, he was droopy eyed.  He ate his lunch and then fell asleep.  Will was worn out as well, but all he did was ride in a stroller.

The many faces of Will.  Chunky boy loves to put back some sweets.  I mean, you don't get such a voluptuous figure by eating fruits and veggies all the time.

Birthday cake on the his actual bday.  This might be TMI, but he pooped green mess for days.  Note to self, hold off on green icing.

Proof the cake was good.  It was everywhere

This cracks me up! Ahhhh, I'm going to get YOU!

Believe it or not, there were several more, but I knew I'd lose you after probably the first 2 or 3.  It is incredibly hard to get a 1 year old to focus, smile and say cheese.  Notice I had to hold the sticker.  1 year olds are on to the game.  He ripped that sucker right off the bat.  Hand full.  That's all I can say.  This one is a hand full.

Photo Dump, part 1

Nice title, eh?  I finally hooked our camera up to download pictures that have been patiently waiting.  We're going back all the way to July 2012.

First we have Zachary's birthday pictures.  This boy wonder is the ripe age of 4.  Along with his 4th birthday comes a new accessory, glasses.  He's supposed to wear them all the time (except for bath, play time and sleeping).  Right now I only make him wear them at school.  It's hard to tell whether he can see with them or not.  You can ask him several times at separate times and get all kinds of answers.  Only the good Lord knows if he truly needs them.

Bright eyed and bushy tailed on the morning of turning 4

The new specs, new DVD and dinner out for his b-day.

Next up... Will's 12 month pics.  Yes, he's 14 months old.  Humor me.

New Beginnings

For those who know me and if you've stuck with me through this blog, you know I love to run.  I am passionate about it.  My hubs thinks I'm nuts.  He thinks running is strictly for emergencies (ig. bears chasings, mass murderer after you, house on fire).  For me, running is something that everyone can do, you don't have to be athletically inclined to do it and other than the cost of shoes and few pairs of running shorts, it's cheap.  My day is complete when I've either gone running or exercised in some way.

Way back in the day I started taking a class at my gym called BodyPump.  I became addicted to this class much like I am with running.  You don't have to be a pro at using a barbell or weights.  You just have to listen and follow instructions.  Fast forward to July 2012.  A crazy idea hit me and instead of thinking no way, not me, it's only for pros, I decided I wanted to teach BodyPump.  Why not? I'd been taking the classes for a while, I knew the moves, and could follow directions.  A sweet friend, who happens to be one of my BodyPump instructors, encouraged me to go for it.  Two weeks later I was attending BodyPump training in Charlotte and 2 months later I'm on the schedule at O2 Fitness - Fuquay teaching the 9:30 class.  There were other steps along the way, but I'm so glad I didn't leave that thought behind and think only other people can do it.  I won't call it a lifelong dream, but how many other things have I discouraged myself from doing? No more! If I can think it, if I can dream it, then I see no reason why I can't do it.  I encourage you as well.

If you're in the area and looking for a gym, I encourage you to check out O2 Fitness.  If you're looking for a fitness class, look no further.  You are always welcome in my class.  We have fun, we encourage each other and best of all we get in shape while doing it.

If you're interested in learning more about Body Pump, click here. Les Mills also has several other group fitness classes.  I've tried most of them and love them all.

A Boy and His Dog

I try to walk to the bus stop most days to get Andrew, but it depends on the weather and how many kids are in tow. This particular day it was just Maggie and me.

I get the bookbag and he walks the dog.

Fall Time Fun

This past weekend we took the boys to Ken's Corn Maze. The boys had a good time monkeying around on the different play equipment. Will just watched from his stroller. We trudged through the maze with Andrew leading the way. We missed a few of the stations, but since they weren't handing out free $$$, we opted to keep right on moving. Everyone had a great time despite no naps and 80+ degree weather.
