Fun in the Sun

Andrew finally had a good time at the pool this weekend. Note to all you mothers out there: Baby Sunblock WILL burn your child's eyes not matter what the label says. I put sunblock on Andrew's face on Friday and he managed to rub his hands all over his face including his eyes. Boy, did he holler! So much for that expensive sunblock. I finally found some that he can tolerate. I'm a proud Mom, I'll admit it, but I swear my child is too darn cute for words! Check him out in all his cuteness below. He laughed and had a blast floating in the water with Daddy. We're heading down to the pool again today to enjoy the hot weather and the pool. You should come and join us!

I've Got a New Toof

UPDATE!!! Andrew has 2 new teeth. How in the world did I miss the 2nd one?

I didn't see the signs b/c there were none. Andrew has sprouted a new tooth. Grammy and I found it on Sunday. He nevers lets me look in his mouth, but on Sunday I tricked him. I acted like I was putting chapstick on him and he opened wide. Ah ha! I saw it... a new pearly white. BTW - Andrew loves chapstick. I'm sure it's the flavor he's after, but he sure lets me smear it on.

Other than a new tooth things here are pretty much the same. Jake's last day with me was Monday. He gave me a beautiful necklace that I'll have to show off. I don't know what to do with myself now that he's gone. We played at Holly's house yesterday with Anton. Andrew had loads of fun playing with them. I saw him go in for a kiss on Holly. I tell ya, he's starting early! He took a super duper great nap yesterday. I put him down at 11:45 and he slept until 3:15. I accomplished quite a bit. I've got the upstairs to clean, laundry to do and I need to clean the carpet, but I've got to pace myself.

Robbie has been in Denver all week for a mgmt. conference. We sure miss Dada a lot. We've been going out to keep busy.

Play Group and Mother's Day

I had a play date this past Friday and I had a ton of fun. I played with Tyler, Dylan, Ryan and Leela. I even made it through my morning nap to play with these guys (and gal). I wore myself slap out! Mommy decided after an hour of fun at the playground it was time to take a snooze. Here I am 2 minutes in the car after playing.

I think my Mommy had a great Mother's Day! Daddy and I surprised her with a new umbrella for the patio set. Mommy and Daddy are sprucing up the back yard and we thought the umbrella would be a nice addition. I overheard them talking the other night and I believe my daddy is going to widen the patio out back so we can play basketball together. Our driveway is up a slight hill, which means no basketball out front. I"ll have my very own basketball court and goal before too long. That should be loads of fun! Back to Mother's Day... we took Grammy out to Outback with Uncle Chris and Aunt Lauren. Boy, was it crowded! We were waiting outside when it started pouring down rain and hailing. I got a little wet, but I thought it was fun to play with the rain drops. A nice man came and walked us inside with his umbrella. I got to eat a cheeseburger and fries. It was very yummy! The hostess thought I was really cute too! She kept playing and flirting with me. I even danced for her! I forgot to ask for her phone number. I hope my Mommy and Grammy had a great Mother's Day! I sure love them both a whole bunch!

Can you say Duke?

This morning as Andrew was eating his breakfast he pointed to my coffee cup on the counter and said, "Duke". Funny thing... my coffee cup is a Duke cup. I have an Einstein on my hands!!!! Such good taste, right? Yeah, yeah go ahead you Carolina folks and make your comments. I was shocked that he would recognize the word Duke on my cup and know that's the word his father and I tell him all the time. Hopefully by the time he's ready to enroll at Duke (c/o 2027) all the scandal will be WAY behind us.

T minus 14 days until Jake leaves us. Andrew is actually starting to interact with him more. Guess Andrew will have to find someone else to play with. I nominate Rachel's peanut for the job. Go to www.thepittmans.blogspot.com to see why I say that.

Cinco de Mayo

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone!

Five years ago today Robbie and I got married at Duke Chapel. What a wonderful and special day it was. It's hard to believe what we've done/accomplished in 5 short years. We've managed to buy 2 houses, a couple of cars, a dog, and have one incredibly amazing little boy. Life doesn't get any better than that.

The plan for tonight: Grammy is going to watch Little Monkey and we're heading out to eat and a movie. Speaking of movies, Apex now has their very own movie theater. You know you're big stuff when you have a SUPER Target and A movie theater. We're trying out a new restaurant called Restaurant Savannah. When I saw the website I almost ate my monitor. When I think of Savannah I think of Paula Deen, cook extraordinaire. Every time I watch her cooking show I gain 5 lbs. I'll let you know how scrumptious the meal was.

Yesterday Andrew and I played hard. We ate lunch with Auntie Turri (for some of you it's Terri, but not me) at Picnic Basket (home of the best turkey wraps), we visited Grammy at work and Papa and Mimi after that. We surprised Aunt Lauren too! Her work gave her a baby shower and we joined in on the fun. Andrew loves Aunt Lauren and Uncle Chris! He even picked out a sweet lovey for Baby Colin. Hurry up lil bugger! We want to love on you.

Not much new with Andrew. He is a mover and shaker. He's everywhere and doesn't sit still for a second. I guess that's the life of a 13 month old. We're planning on getting him a sandbox soon. He's picked out a crab sandbox. He likes to play with the eyes on it.

Chick Magnet

Aunt Lauren bought Andrew the cutest shirt available at Target. It's very fitting my for my little "chick magnet". What normal person could resist such a cute kid? See for yourself.



I've finally found a stroller that Andrew will tolerate. I went to Toys R Us today and bought a $20.00 umbrella stroller. Who'd have thought a cheap stroller would satisfy him when we've got a bloody Cadillac of strollers for him? Note to all you future parents: Skip the expensive stuff and buy stuff that costs $30.00 or less OR is found around your house (ie. keys, tupperware, paper, cereal boxes). Lesson learned for the Perry's.

Robbie and I celebrate our 5 year anniversary on Friday. It's hard to believe we've been married for 5 years, but what's really mind blowing is we've been together for 12 years. That's right folks, we've been together since 10th grade. True love - I wouldn't trade Robbie for the world. He's a keeper! Sorry ladies, he's all MINE.
