Purple Haze

Robbie and I had the pleasure of attending the ECU/State game this Saturday. Man, was it nice to see some of our friends from ECU. We really enjoyed cheering on the Pirates (that's right, Go Pirates!) and tailgating. Kudos to Matt and Kimberly for preparing a fine feast on a nice, chilly evening. The soup du jour was "fancy" chicken noodle. Boy, did it hit the spot!


How about those Pirates? Man, the fans really showed up on Saturday to cheer on our team. Of course I'm a sucker fan. Sucker fan = a fan who ends up feeling sorry/bad for the losing team. Yes, I'm a sucker fan. I truly felt sorry for State, but hey, maybe with Chuckem gone you'll do better. Maybe, right? As Andrew would say, "C-ya Chuckie!"

On the other hand, it sure was nice to really tick off the obnoxious State fan sitting behind us. She actually yelled, "You suck!" to the Pirates. Ironic isn't it? I was hoping someone would pull out the tranquilizer gun and shoot her, but no such luck. I guess the score speaks volumes b/c towards the end she shut up and left early. Spoiled sport! I don't guess the very drunk man in front of us helped ease her worries either. He laid it on pretty thick!

Great weekend over all! Happy for the Pirates and even happier it's Christmas time!

Our tree is up, the house is decorated and we're patiently waiting for Santa to visit.

Off With His Hair!

There are few things in life that I really don't like. I can tell you one of Andrew's dislikes... getting his hair cut. Wednesday marked his 5th haircut and I'm here to tell you it was nerve wracking and traumatic for every party involved. Andrew loathes, hates, dislike, you choose whatever verb you like that means does not like getting his hair cut. He acted like a wild animal. Cookies, lollipops, cell phones, keys, nothing worked at keeping his attention off the nice lady trying to make him look nice and well kept. When we left the lady told me she was going to have to take a Valum. Nice, right? My child "shot her nerves" all to pieces. She earned her tip the hard way.

I take him home thinking "Well, it doesn't look too bad." Robbie confirmed that my thoughts were indeed incorrect and that Andrew's hair looked like crap (in no uncertain terms). We debated what to do and the end result was me going to Target in the pouring down rain to purchase trimmers and a guard. So, $40.00 later my child can now enlist in the U.S. Army with his hair. That's right folks, we buzzed it right off with a 4 guard (for all of you who cut hair or know what I'm talking about). As we're buzzing his hair, Andrew looks down at the floor and says, "Bye bye hair." That's right, baby, bye bye hair.

Out and About with Avery

I met my friend Avery at Pullen Park on Monday. Her mommy went to Meredith with my mommy. Avery's a pretty cool chick. She's really cute and smiles a lot. We got on the swings together and ate cheerios and goldfish together. I had lots of fun spending time with her. This summer I'll be chasing her around the playground. Mommy had fun too. She said she and Beth got to catch up on all their friends.

Andrew has this fascination with our dog Tootsie. He screams when we don't let him in the backyard at all hours of the day to play with her. See for yourself his obsession.

Mimi

Our sweet, precious Mimi (Robbie's grandmother) passed away last night after a few months of declining health. Please pray for Pop as he deals with losing his best friend of 64 years.

Last night I told Andrew that Mimi went bye bye. He looked at me and said, "Bye Bye Mimi." I said do you know who she went to see? His reply, "Jeeesuhus." Just so happens that's his new word for the week.
