We Give Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving! This year I am thankful for my beautiful family, freedom, a roof over my head, the simple things in life and for my salvation. We're giving thanks with a very thankful heart today and all days.

Dear John, Part 2

Dear John,
I recently purchased your latest CD (yet to be released) early. Due to my eagerness, you so kindly provided me with a passcode that would allow me to purchase tickets to your concert before the rest of the world can. How sweet of you to think of me! I'm sure no one else in the world got this special passcode, right? Needless to say I totally forgot that the tickets went on sale Saturday morning until Sunday night. Ughh! Have no fear, I was still able to get seats on the floor and halfway back, but after plotting a strategy with my partner in crime (well not really b/c we don't make it a point to break the law, but you get the idea) we decide to go further up so we don't have any teeny boppers and such blocking our view. The vertically challenged must stick together!

I eagerly await March 15th for many reasons now. A) It's one of the best days in the world B) It happens to be my birthday C) John Mayer is in concert D) It's the day before Heather's birthday E) It's my birthday F) Lastly, John Mayer is in concert

In closing, thank you John for making my day as well as Heather's day. We knew you loved us, but it wasn't until now we knew just how much. No, we won't be wearing homemade "We love John" shirts and no, we won't cry like a bunch of babies when you DO look at us and serenade us with your sweet melodies. We will; however, still scream like a bunch of teenagers and possibly wear our most fabulous outfits just in case.

Big Changes

Today was a big day of change for me. Today I resigned from my job. Starting January 1, 2010 I will be an employee of the Perry household. My bosses will be 2 incredibly cute boys. Of course I get to tell them what to do, but they will still be my bosses. I am excited about this change, but it does come with some sadness. I will miss my wonderful friends at work. I've grown very close to my teammates and am sad they will no longer be a part of my daily routine. All the more reason to plan lunch and dinner dates.

Viva La Change!

Tis the Season

Half Marathon season that is. Last weekend kicked off running season for me. It's been since March and I dusted off the tennis shoes and gave it the ol' college try. I didn't beat my best time, but I didn't do too shabby for rain, cold and wind.

City of Oaks you may have claimed a small victory over me, but I SHALL prevail!

Time: 1:53

Next up - Ocean Isle Half Marathon, Jan 9th

Dear John

I knew it! I knew it! You do love me!

Thank you for coming to concert on MY birthday! Can I place my request for front row seats now?

Love,
Amy

15 Months

Mr. Zachary had his "15th" month old check-up today. While he is still my baby, he's quickly moving from babyhood to toddler hood at warp speed. Dr. Steele gladly let us know Zachary is where they expect him to be. The doctors will continue to use adjusted vs. calendar age, but to them he is doing things a 15th month old would do. Way to go, OFZ!

Stats at 15 months
Weight: 20.5 lbs (5%)
Height: 29.25 inches (4%)
Head: 18.25 (25%)

What you're up to:
  • Walking, walking, walking - fast too
  • Terrorizing your big brother
  • You're obsessed with pushing the buttons on the TV and often irritate unsaid family members when you change the channel.
  • You throw full on temper tantrums. You throw yourself down on your tummy, thrash head and kick legs, roll over to back, thrash head, kick legs all the while screaming. It's rather funny.
  • You like to watch DVDs in the car now.
  • You think it's your duty to feed Maggie at lunch and dinner time. It isn't. Thanks.
  • You like to flush the toilet even when it's not necessary.
  • You'll eat if we keep feeding you. You are a bottomless pit.
  • You bulldoze over other kids in the nursery at church.
  • You've started sucking your right thumb more. Especially at bedtime.
  • You point to things you want.
  • You are still happy all the time.
  • You like to bee bop when upbeat music comes on.
  • You like to wave at everyone.
  • I'm still #1, Nonnie is slowly edging in to my spot though. Ain't happenin'!
  • Dr. Steele said you have 8 more teeth coming. That's right, 8, eight teeth!
