All's Well That Ends Well

As Andrew would say, "Night Night 2006!" What a year it has been! Some good and some bad, but who's counting?

Andrew has grown quite a bit this year (a little too quickly) and has developed into quite a young man. We've battled horrible haircuts, shots, chipped teeth, black eyes, goose eggs, boo boos and of course wonderful things such as walking, talking, kisses, hugs and hearing Mommy and Daddy. Right now we're in full swing terrible 2's, which is trying to one's patience, but I have to thank God that I've been given the privilege of experiencing this. For those of you I see and talk to regularly remind me of this when I'm at my wits end and ready to thrash my child.

For all of those not-so-fun times come fantastic times, which reinforces that Andrew is indeed something fabulous. For instance, today we went to church and Andrew has come to love church. He loves his nursery workers (all 4 of them) and he's really come to love Courtney (he calls her name all the time followed by the word church), Davis and Charlie. He says Jesus after we say church and now he even says Amen when we say the blessing. When he wants to hear Jesus Loves Me he comes over and in his singing voice says, "Jeezus". I love it, I love it, I love it!

Andrew has really learned how to communicate with us so that we can actually understand what he wants. Though, I'm not really sure where he learned to say "I need", but he'll even throw that in every once in a while. When I find the person(s) responsible for teaching my child "I need" be scared, be very scared! He tells us when he wants a nap, milk and to go night night.

I'll end my bragging session now. Thanks for humoring me while I did so. I look forward to listening to everyone's bragging session. It's wonderful to hear about how special all of your children are too!

What Are We Doing Next Year For Christmas??

We're going to Disney World!

Most of you know that my family spends quite a bit of time down at Walt Disney World. This year we weren't able to make our annual trip (I know, we've all hemmed and hawed over it). Grammy/Nonnie is sending all of us next December for a whole week of fun! Talk about a wonderful Christmas treat.


As usual, Andrew was spoiled by Santa and family. He racked up on all kinds of loot for kids. I believe we're going to need a bigger house to store it all. He really digs the Spiderman car that his Ahmy gave him. As soon as we can get him to actually turn the wheels we'll be set. Coming in a close 2nd is the Elmo tool bench. Naturally he beats on everything with the hammer. That's my boy!

All I Want For Christmas is a Nice...

Black eye. See for yourself what playing with new toys can do. I've given up trying to keep his head in perfect shape. I think we're going to buy him a helmet to wear 24/7.

Warning: If you put your pocket book on the floor your child may trip on it and hit his cheek on his car. Good stuff, eh?

The Semester is Over

So my toughest semester by far is finally over. Classes ended for me on Thursday. All I can say is Anatomy and Physiology wore me out like a rented mule. I put blood, sweat and tears into that class. I gave studying a whole new meaning this semester. Anyway, we took our last test on Wednesday and I was dying to know if I actually managed to pull a B in the class. I gave up the dream of an A early on. So, my ever so sarcastic, but very cool teacher replied to my e-mail with the following msg. "I cannot give you your grade via e-mail, but Be very happy with your grade. Nice, eh?!?" I am going to go out on a very long limb here and say I managed to get the grade I was looking for (well other than a miracle and an A). Holy schmoly, do you know how happy this gal is??? There were people in my class who were on their 2nd and 3rd try at A&P. Granted, some of them didn't have all cylinders clicking upstairs, but still! Merry Christmas to me. Now, let's see if I can pull and A in Public Speaking. Many of you who know me know I have no trouble speaking. HA!

On a much sadder note, sweet Hayden Grace Craver went home to Jesus on Friday. Please remember Hayden's mommy and daddy (Shannon and Nathan) in your prayers. I know you all have seen Andrew hit a golf ball before, but he's getting really good. He and Robbie have been to the driving range a couple of times to practice. He's getting good. Watch out Tiger! Mama's baby is moving in on you.

Warning: Your Child May Get Hurt

Note to all you parents: If your child stands in his chair he may get hurt. At least that's the case with my child. Not quite sure how he managed to topple over with his chair, but he did and boy does he have a mark to show for it. I've never in my life seen a knot on his head get so large and turn purple/blue instantly. It scared me so bad I called my mother in a panic. I thought for sure he had jiggled his brains loose and knocked his teeth out. Keep in mind we're already on down on the teeth. He chipped those a few months ago. Needless to say, word travels fast and within 1 hour my whole family congregated at our house to make sure Andrew was ok. Even family out of town called numerous times to check in. According to nurse Lauren (Aunt Lauren to Andrew) and her boss Dr. Snyder, Andrew is fine, thankfully. You'd never know it by looking at his forehead. It looks like a mac truck hit him head on. Glad we took Christmas card pictures this weekend.

My public safety announcement for the week. Keep your kids out of chairs period. Sitting in them should be a privilege.
