8 Months

  • Sleep -You are consistent.  You're down no later than 8:30pm and you'll rise anywhere from 6:30 - 7:00.
  • You are a cruiser now.
  • You've stood alone for at least 10 seconds now.  It's only a matter of time before you're walking.
  • You move all over the house.
  • You climbed the stairs unbeknownst to your father who was watching you for the day.
  • You talk all the time.  You seem to be very happy when you are "talking".
  • Your eyes are still blue!!!
  • You wear size 9 month, but 12 fits so much better.
  • You wear size 3 diapers.
  • You love bath time and no longer use the baby tub.  You also like to stand and move in the tub, which is a HUGE no no.
  • You are mesmerized by Andrew and love talking to him.  He is definitely your favorite person besides me. ; )
  • You reach for me if someone else is holding you.
  • You're a mama's boy.
  • You have your bottom teeth and top 2 teeth and 2 more top teeth have poked through.  That's a total of 6 teeth.  Never once were you grouchy.
  • You've said Ma Ma, Da Da, hey and bye
  • You've figured out how to blow bubbles and sputter/spit
  • Sadly, you are a breast milk/formula combo baby.  Not sad because you're having formula, but sad because you're growing too fast.
  • You'll eat anything I offer you now.  Doesn't matter what it is.  Lord knows I'm praying you'll be an eater like Zachary.
  • You've eaten the following big people foods and love them: yeast rolls, chicken (itty bitty pieces of CFA nuggets and BBQ chicken), hush puppies, baked beans, quesadillas, french toast and pizza.  You didn't turn any of them away.
  • You love to be outside in the fresh air.  You're going to be a hot weather liking kind of dude.
  • You love to go running with me.
  • You make me smile and give my heart a reason to be happy.
  • You're growing way too fast.
  • You've found your feet and think they are tasty.
  • You chew on anything and everything from fingers, clothes, faces, furniture, etc.
  • I caught you standing in your crib chewing on the railing.  Hope the residual of Andrew and Zachary's chewing spots taste yummy. Blech.
  • You're a tummy sleeper and have been since week 8.
  • You don't sit still.
  • You sleep with your lovie that we call Lolly.  You wrap your arms around her and go night night.
  • Like your brothers, you sleep to the Ocean Waves and I think it calms you.
  • I've had people tell me you look like me, but honestly, I don't know who you look like.
  • You think Maggie (the dog) is funny.  You giggle at her all the time.  You also think her dog bowls are for your enjoyment.
  • You got your first hair trim this month.  You need another now.  You're looking kinda shaggy.

As If Our Schedules Weren't Busy Enough

Andrew decided he wants to play soccer this year.  I'm not sure there are enough hours in the day accommodate everything that needs to be done, but we sure try.  Our church has a soccer team, which we're thankful for.  I also resigned myself to the fact that Andrew may not really want to play soccer and thus I made a small donation (soccer fee) to our church.  I'm ok with that.  Thankfully, Andrew seems to be enjoying soccer this time around.

Easter Egg Hunt

I know I'm going backwards in posts, but at least I'm making the effort, right?

Zachary's class had an Easter party and egg hunt on the last day before spring break.  The kids appeared to have a great time.  Andrew was with me and they even let him in on the fun.  See for yourself.

Happy Easter

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter.  What a beautiful day to celebrate the hope and promises of Jesus' resurrection.

For the first time in 7 years we finally took a family picture at church.  We enjoyed having Nonnie with us at church on Sunday and then having Easter lunch with her afterwards.  She says she's lost her touch, but I'm here to tell you she hasn't.

Happy Resurrection Day!

Happy 7th Birthday

Happy Birthday, Andrew! Your dad and I still cannot believe you are 7 years old.  Where has the time gone? You are such a fantastic, young man with such a sweet heart and huge personality.  Your bright eyes, freckles and beautiful smile make my heart do flip flops.  You are turning into the perfect gentleman, which makes me so stinkin' proud.

I love you to the moon and back!
