Happy Birthday Robbie

Andrew wants to tell his daddy Happy Birthday! Robbie turns 29 today. It's hard to believe I started dating him when he was 16 years old. If you see him today or e-mail him be sure to wish him a happy b-day.

Grammy is going to have dinner at her house tonight to celebrate. We'll also be celebrating Aunt Lauren's b-day, which is July 31st. Happy early b-day to Aunt Lauren.

We head out to the beach tomorrow. I'll try my hardest to keep in touch with everyone and post pictures of Andrew enjoying himself.

Have a good day and weekend!

Hey Baby

Today I took Andrew to see some of my IBM friends. As we were making the rounds at Auntie Heather's desk we ran into another Heather. Andrew looks straight at her and says, "hey baby". Auntie Heather looks at me and asks, "Did he just say hey baby?" To which I reply, "I think so." I have NO idea where he got that from, but it was rather cute. He gave Heather that coy smile and kept on rolling. He's too young to be picking up ladies.

In other news... Miss Hayden's (her mommy is a MC alum) surgery was successful and hopefully she's off the ventilator now. Andrew and I are glad to hear things went well. We're looking forward to playing with Hayden soon.

Gangsta Baby

That's "BOO" to you Mom!

The Big Red Shiny Fire Truck

Dad, are you in there?? No peace in the "loo"!

No, no, no, no, NO and More

Andrew has become very acquainted with the word no. So much so he uses it all the time. Everything is noo, noo. It could be because he hears it all the time. He's very much the dare devil in our house. He's also learned that the flat iron and blow dryer are HOT. He'll look at them and tell me they are hot. Atta boy! Only problem... he still wants to pick them up. Guess we'll have to work on that.

We bought him an inflatable fire truck ball pit, which he now seems to enjoy. His latest trick is to run at it and then dive in. I told you he was a dare devil. Lucky for him the inflatable side caught him or he would have kissed the wall head first. He'll spend a good amount of time in the ball pit throwing the balls out, honking the horn on the truck, etc. Robbie thought we had wasted our money. Of course I knew we hadn't. Andrew takes his sweet time warming up to his new stuff.

We're heading out to the beach on Saturday. We're looking forward to spending some time away. I'm looking forward to the outlet malls myself. This mama hasn't been cold, hard shopping in a long time. I'm sure I'll come home with a few things.

In other news... Robbie has decided to try his hand at long driving competitions. Our neighbor competes in these and got Robbie all fired up. I guess our neighbor thought he could be good at it and talked him into going to qualify. I always try to be positive when Robbie is trying something. I mean, I see his potential even when he does not. He is his worst critic! Lo and behold...he qualified! He was in 1st place until a LATE straggler came in and knocked him into 2nd. It's all good though, he goes to districts in August where I hope his new driver will bring him much luck. He is all fired up as am I.

Not much else going on in the lives of the Perry family. We're just hangin' out and staying out of trouble.

Until next time!

Beach Baby

Andrew is now officially a beach baby. We went down to Emerald Isle for a couple of days to spend time with Grammy and Aunt Caggie (her real name is Carolyn, but she got Caggie for a nickname when none of us could pronounce Carolyn at a tender age). Call her Carolyn and she won't respond. Andrew had a blast playing with his sand toys and romping in the ocean. He really had fun watching the sea gulls fly overhead. His favorite thing is to sit in the sand and let the waves wash over him. Well, that was fun until a wave knocked him over and then it wasn't fun anymore. We found sand in every crevice of his little body after that.

We're heading to Myrtle Beach in a couple of weeks for a nice relaxing vacation. Let's hope Andrew works out the kinks of sleeping in a pack-n-play before then. We didn't have such a good night the first night at the beach. I thought we had brought Colin with us and left Andrew at home. He woke up at 1:45, back down at 3:15ish, back up at 5:00 (throwing up this time), down shortly after and then back up at 7:00. He slept in Grammy's room the next night and was back to his old self. He slept the whole night through! WOOHOO!

New pictures posted on our website (www.perry-apex.com).

Enjoy the week! It’s supposed to be a hot one this week, so stay cool and drink lots of water.

Ta-ta,

He's a Yankee Doodle Sweetheart

He's a Yankee Doodle Boy! Andrew had a great 4th of July. We took Andrew to the Apex 4th of July celebration. He and Daddy got to go down the big slide together. I have one word to describe yesterday...HOT! Holy Moses, I don't know how one could stand to be out in such heat. We didn't last long before Andrew needed a nap. Grammy took him home with her and put him down. He loves going to Grammy's house! So much to get into and mess up (ie. remote control). We had traditional 4th food, which was very yummy to our tummies. We started off with fried pickle slices followed by hotdogs and Paula Deen's baked beans. So... good to my tummy. OH - give Andrew and chip or pretty much anything and listen to what he says. That's right ya'll he says, "Thank you, well it sounds like tank doo." I'm gonna have a polite child if it kills both of us! Robbie and I went out and bought fireworks. We need to publicize next year b/c we have the world's craziest dog when it comes to fireworks. Maggie managed to knock 2 nice fireworks over and singe her long hair while she was at it. For those of you who thought burned human hair stinks, YOU AIN'T SMELLED NOTHING YET! Imagine the wet dog smell and then burned hair on top of it. FOUL! Nonetheless we enjoyed watching Maggie act like a mad maniac. Andrew watched intently the different colors fizzing in the air and Colin rested peacefully in his Grammy's arms. See for yourself his cuteness!

Hope you all enjoyed your 4th! We sure did.
