Ides of March 2010
The start of the 32nd year of my life was a splendid one. I woke up to many Happy Birthdays from family members, e-mails, texts, etc. The weather was lovely, which is always nice. Nonnie took me and the boys to lunch. I wish I could say I tasted mine, but I didn't thanks to one incredibly active monkey. One day, ONE DAY, I will eat a meal and actually get to enjoy and taste it. It may be 18 years from now, but it will happen. That's a whole different post. I know you moms know what I'm talking about.
Anyhoo...
March 15th is known as the "Ides of March", which marks Julius Caesar's death. Move over Julius Caesar...I dethroned you in 1978. Born to you in the city of Durham at one largely famous Duke Hospital.
On March 15, 2010 I marked the start of my 32nd year with one fantastic and wonderful friend, Heather at the aforementioned concert of John Mayer. Again, he did not disappoint me. I will put aside my thoughts on his internal filter being severely busted and enjoy him for what I love most, his music. I must say I would have enjoyed the concert more if the I didn't have a chorus of squealing pigs sitting behind me. Kid you not. Every time (and I do mean EVERY.SINGLE.STINKING.TIME) John started or stopped a song, which you can imagine over the course of 2 hours was several times OR when the man moved anything from the neck down (i.g. arms, waist, legs, hips, shins, toes, feet, knees, you name it) this group of squealing pigs would do just that... SQUEAL LIKE PIGS BEING LED TO THE SLAUGHTER! Heather and I sat on the edge of our seats the whole night preparing for our ears to be busted with said noise. I must be getting old. Must be. They royally worked the nerves. I didn't let them hinder me from enjoying what I came for. They shant keep me from the next concert.
Year # 32 is off to a good start. Lots to look forward to. Thank you JM for ending my birthday night on one stellar note. I only wish I held up a sign proclaiming today was my birthday. Maybe then I would have beat Emily to the stage. Maybe next year.

18 Month Visit
Zachary finally had his 18 month visit at the ped's office.
Weight: 23lbs 3oz
Head: 18 1/2 inches
Length: 31 inches
We are officially WELL on the growth chart. No more hovering around the bottom of the line. Thank.You.Jesus!
He received 3 shots, which royally stinks, but you do what you have to do. He was a trooper. He cried just a little and then placed his 18 1/2 inch pretty head on my shoulder and quickly placed his sweet, chubby thumb in his mouth. That's all it takes, folks. Mom's shoulder and one thumb. Fo' Free.
Lately Zachary is an equal opportunity tag lover. It used to be the tag on his blankie only, but now if you have a tag, he'll use it to suck his thumb. For instance, this weekend he didn't have his blankie so he used the airline tag on his bag to suck his thumb. He's used the tag on the inside of his coat, quilts, towels, you name it. I'm still giggling over the airline tag.

Prayers
Calling all prayer warriors!!!
A friend from high school is on her way to be with her sister who at 29 weeks was admitted in preterm labor. She's made it almost a week at the hospital on bed rest, received the steroid shots and antibiotics. Baby Kenley is measuring around 2 lbs at last check. They are delivering Baby Kenley today via c-section due to breech position. Many of you who read this blog have been in this exact position before. It's scary. I won't lie. Please pray for developed lungs, the c-section to go well and for no complications. Pray for the doctors and nurses caring for this family. If Baby Kenley has to be moved, pray for safe transportation.
I know the miracles God can perform and I know he isn't done performing them. Baby Kenley will be a testament to that.
Please keep this sweet family in your prayers today and the coming days.
