Dear Andrew and Zachary,
They did it! Our beloved Blue Devils won the National Championship! You were both asleep for this important game, but believe me when I tell you it was a nail biter. Butler played a huge game and should be proud of the effort they gave. Thankfully the Blue Devils prevailed.

Today we got to welcome the Duke team home to Cameron Indoor Stadium. Andrew, your daddy named you after Cameron Indoor Stadium. Had I given him his way you would have been named after Coach K or something really wacky like that. What fun we had today! I'm totally bummed you didn't get Zoub's autograph, Andrew. I know how much you love him and naming your fish after him is a testament to that. Zachary, you have no idea what's going on, but one day you will. We won't let you forget that during your 20th month of life Duke brought home the bacon so to speak.

Boys, I look forward to many more years of cheering on Duke with you! You're the mini Cameron Crazies of Fuquay Varina.

I know that we have no direct ties to this basketball team other than our family loyalty, but man I'm overjoyed with pride. I cannot imagine what the parents of these boys feel like. How awesome is it to watch your son excel at college basketball and win the most coveted prize? Holy smokes!

Way to go, Duke! We are so proud of your efforts this basketball season. We look forward to next year and the hope of winning another championship.

Dear Andrew,

It's hard for me to say it, but you are 5 years old today! Where oh where has the time gone? I remember the day you were born like it was yesterday. You'll officially be 5 at 11:18am. It was at that time 5 years ago you took me from being just a girl (well a girl whose role was solely wife) to MOM. What an honor it is to be your mother! You are so precious, sweetheart.

I can say this because I'm your mother, but I think you are one handsome young man. You have the most beautiful eyes. You have eyelashes that reach from here to China. You have a button nose I could eskimo kiss for hours on end. Those ruby red smackers you got are compliments of me. You're welcome. You are perfection!

Your love for life is addicting. You have such an enthusiastic love for learning. You have quite an imagination too. You take coloring in the lines very seriously. You are one smart cookie!

I love you so much, Andrew Cameron Perry, that I could bust at the seams! You make my heart happy. I am beyond thankful to call you my little monkey.
