Mistletoe Run - Half Marathon

Mama is at it again. She's going to run another half marathon in December. This time we're traveling to Winston Salem for her run. I guess I better bundle up so I can cheer her on the whole time.

I have officially completed my very first half marathon. What an experience! I was up at 5:00am this morning getting my self pepped to run 13.1 miles. I had the wonderful fortune of running with a wonderful gal named Kristen. Her goal time was 2 hours just like me. I had no idea what to expect, but Kristen had completed a couple of marathons and a few half marathons. We stuck together the whole time and can I say for the record WE ROLLED SOME FOLK! On mile 11 a volunteer told us that at this point we were running 8 min 35 second miles. I don't think I've ever done that before! I don't have my official time, but the un-official time is 1:53:34.

The best thing of this marathon... seeing my beautiful son and husband waiting for me at the finish line. Priceless.

Thanks to all the volunteers and Raleighites who braved the freezing cold to cheer us on, hand out water and keep us going. Kudos to you!

Kristen has put the bug in my ear to do the Disney Marathon. Hmmm, next goal?

I'll post pictures once Robbie fixes the camera. Andrew decided to "play" with it after the race.

For the record I was styling and profiling the UConn Basketball shirt. I've completed my end of the bet. I'll put that shirt to better use... a dust rag.
